Mission

Women in Electrical and Computer Engineering (WECE) seeks to promote the enrollement and retention of women in WPI's ECE department.

More about WECE

WECE stands for Women in Electrical and Computer Engineering, and is pronounced "we-see". Meetings are open to all students. Announcements are sent to all women undergraduate and graduate ECE students, and to women undergraduates who are 'undecided'. Women students and others who support our mission are encouraged to participate in meetings and events.

WECE is a student-run organization with elected officers. As of Fall 2003, WECE is an officially-recognized student organization on the WPI campus.

WECE organizes events such as workshops, panel discussions, and social activities in order to acheive our mission. The REC Room lounge is the location for our meetings and smaller events. The REC Room also provides visibility for our organization in the department.

WECE advisors include Shela Aboud, Assistant Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Stephanie Blaisdell, Director Diversity & Women's Prograns. WECE is run by the female students of the Electrical and Computer Engineering department at Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
